Raise a Reader

Here is a picture of Makiya on Christmas morning opening one of her Christmas gifts.  Look at the enthusiasm with which she is pulling off the paper!
She is not quite one year old and already showing signs of being a bookworm like her Mom and her Grandma!

Here she is later, still engrossed in her book.

I think that the love of books is one of the best gifts we can give our children and grandchildren, don't you?

I SO agree with you! And I love those Richard Scarry books. My boys (all readers now) grew up on them.

I totally agree with you. And what great pictures. Save those to give to her when she has a child of her own.

You can never start too young with reading. When my son was 6 months old I started reading to him. Wow that was fun.

Later my kids both tested 4 grades higher in reading ability and vocab. YES! Both kiddos first grade teachers told me they could tell we read to them early. (Not bragging. Wait, yes I am.)

PS Makiya is adorable.
