Here is my life lesson for today: "Don't try and cut someone's hair when you're tired and not thinking clearly".
I have cut my husband's hair for years, and this morning started out like many others. As I took the clippers to the back of his head, the difference this morning was that I had neglected to put on the #2 guard.
One never wants to hear the words "uh oh" when their hair is being cut, but that's what my husband heard this morning. The damage was done in one swipe of the clippers, and there was nothing to be done but to clip the rest of his hair to match the first ruthless path of the clippers.
He kind of resembles Yul Brenner in The King and I this afternoon, not a bad thing, right?! We have had some good chuckles over this little mishap today, and I have just one more thing to say to my eternally patient husband:
Sorry honey.....uh....shall we dance?!

This is soooo funny. My husband and I actually belly laughed!!!!
Bald is beautiful! I'm one of those women who find bald men very attractive...just ask my husband - who happens to be bald!
You'll need to get him a hat to sleep in. My father, brother and son all say it helps keep them warm at night.
That's called trust!! I clip the back of my husband's neck and that's all he lets me do:)) Probably a good thing. That's a great picture!
A very close shave is actually very much in vogue right now, so your hubby is stylin'!!
Laughing! Well, he looks handsome! And the "yul brenner" is definitely a "stylin'" thang now...
this made me laugh, though...!
(and thank you for stopping by the YOG and leaving a nice comment...)
Been there, done that! I used to cut my boys' hair and when they complained, I told them to get a job and pay for their own haircuts. It's funny how resourceful they were at finding ways to earn enough money for haircuts--although I thought I was pretty good at haircuts.
The clipper mishap had a great silver lining. You were able to laugh with each other AND share with your blog friends the close nature of your relationship. :)
I too cut my husband's hair and my son's but I make it a practice for them to put the guard they want on the clippers before I even put them in my hand.
Great story. It is a nice way to spend time together and everyone is correct...very vogue!
