On vacation.....in my mind....

It snowed again today. Sigh. I wish Gerry and I were sitting in these chairs on the beach in Playa del Carmen where the picture was taken a couple of years ago.

Gerry would have his book of Suduko and would be working on a puzzle. I would be reading one of the books that I had saved just for this vacation.

Now and then I would look out at the water or I would put my book down for a few moments and just watch the people walking by on the beach.

Before too long, Gerry would suggest a dip in the ocean to cool off. I would follow him, somewhat reluctantly, as there would be small fishes that would come near us when we entered the water, and I wouldn't like their proximinty. I would also be somewhat uncomfortable with the waves, but Gerry would hold on to me and we would explore the waters.

After our swim, we would take a long walk on the beach, holding hands and talking. Eventually we would return to our sanctuary on the beach and perhaps close our eyes for a nap. No phone calls to return, no work needing to be done, no emails to answer.

Did I mention that it snowed today?

I love the way you went to a wonderful place in your mind to escape the snow! I could feel the sand between my toes and the sunshining down on my face, we had clouds and wind all day and the chance of a much needed rain, so far no rain.

I won't tell you our temps here, but your mini mental vacation sure was nice.

The photo is perfect! I wish I was there now, too.

We had some teaser weather last week - about 70 degrees - but are back to cold and rain now. *sigh*

Deb - I love that feeling of sand between by toes!
Angie - I wish I was enjoying your weather right now.
Janna - We had a teaser too....it's almost worse now than if we hadn't had it.
Michele - of course I don't mind...the more the merrier. Let's all go!

What a beautiful picture. I often take vacations in my mind...aren't they wonderful? Bring me back some sand, Linda.

I loved too your vivid descriptions and how you took me right there! Even though it will be in the 80's here today, there is something about being away from it all that makes it the vacation!!

That was the best vacation I've had all year! Okay, so it's only March...but it was a well written piece! We haven't had any snow in a couple of days, but the sun isn't doing us any favors either! Brrrrr.

Weather is ucky here today, too. Freezing rain this morning and slippery roads then a bit of snow this afternoon. Spring and winter need to figure out who's in charge!

First and again, smacks Angie with my flip flop. : ) This is a lovely visual you have here, Linda. I'm ready for spring and especially, I feel, the sea. C'mon spring!

It snowed here yesterday. The first cold weather since returning from our trip. I know we have a ways to go until spring is here to stay, but the snow was hard to take!

Great imagination!

Thank you for dropping by my place. I decided to reciprocate, and straightaway saw that you're a Washingtonian. Hubby and I grew up in Tacoma, raised our children in Auburn & University Place, and eventually lived above the Puyallup Valley before moving to Arizona in 2000.

We'll chat again, I'm sure.

Be blessed,
Kathleen
