My protectors

Last evening Gerry was out at a meeting and the dogs would just not settle down until he came home. I've noticed that when he's not home and if I am upstairs they, Maya especially, sits at the top of the stairs where she can look out the window. I can get annoying as she barks at everyone who walk by the house, but I know she feels that she's doing her "job".
Last night I crawled into bed early planning to get in some good long reading time. Usually Gerry and I go to bed at the same time, and the girls settle in with us. Last night they were having no part of settling down without Gerry. They stood on the end of the bed looking at the bedroom door. Every few minutes they would jump down and go to the top of the stairs and wait for a few moments before running downstairs to the back door to see if he had arrived yet. Then, back up the stairs and on to the bed where they resumed their post at the end of the bed. Back and forth, up and down, all evening until Gerry finally got home and they were able to settle down and sleep.
My yorkies...my companions....my protectors!!

What a reassurance! And their little pjs (or whatever they are) are adorable. :)

Love their outfits! So cute!

Our miniature poodle does the same. When one of us goes out, the other has to close all the blinds so he can't see out or he will bark at everything and everyone until that person comes back. He spends most of his time standing up against the back of the couch and with head resting on crossed front paws. The sound of a car outside will send him from door to door to see whoever is expected to return.

Yes they are pjs. We turn our temperature down and night, and I was concerned about them getting too cold!

Adorable and Linda, they are protectors, indeed. Even the yappiest. smallest of dogs will encourage the would-be-burgler to go to the quiet house--the one without the dogs--without the noise. And so my police hubby tells many who ask about home security.

Who says small dogs don't make good protectors? I love my little Caesar and he would defend us to the end. Such a wonderful story, Linda. Love the PJ's! So adorable.

they are so cute! My schnauzers are the same way, they aren't happy till be are both home, then they can settle in for the night, and if my husband is out of town, they are on alert duty, every little noise they have to check out.

Aww they are just too adorable! I know that I'm very thankful for my two because the least little thing they hear and they let me know about it. It does get annoying, but at the same time it's nice to know that if someone were to bother us, they'd have to go through the dogs first! Will be even more of a comfort to me with my husband away at school soon!
