In The Moment?

I like to listen to music when I'm getting ready in the morning. Usually during the week I tune in to my favorite radio station for some uplifting music. This morning when I turned it on I heard a Christmas song.

For a moment, I was confused. Had I woken up into some weird time warp? Was it suddenly December?

With all the talk these days about living a simpler life, and enjoying life more in the moment, why do we try and hurry time. It is still October, people!

I'm tired of going to Costco in September and finding Christmas decorations. I don't like seeing back-to-school wear in July. January is not the time for me to be thinking about Valentines Day.

For goodness sakes, let's slow down!

Personally, I think I'll be listening to opera or classical music on my iPod in the morning for the next couple of months.

I so agree with you. I saw Christmas stuff in Kohls in September.
I work at a mall and by the time Christmas does get here I'm tired of it.

I think after today, Christmas Season will be in full swing. But I won't wish you Seasons Greetings yet! Just a Happy Halloween :)

Linda, oh how true it is. It amazes me to walk into our local Wally World (Wal-Mart) and see they have Christmas decorations next to the Halloween/Fall decorations and it's usually in September or even earlier. If someone rushes out to buy a decoration for the holiday coming up, the stores have already taken it off the shelves and slapped up the next holiday's decor.

I agree with you whole heartedly. We live in a fast paced world. My Mom (rest her soul) always said I should have lived back in the "olden" days of sipping lemonade under the trees full of Spanish moss or a big Magnolia tree.

Happy Holidays (whichever one it may be...lol.)

That's a big AMEN! Time flies too fast already to rush ahead to anything! Why can't people learn to make the most of the blessings at the moment instead of hurrying off to shop early for a day that may never come?

I totally agree that we have lost the ability to live in the moment and enjoy what is NOW!

And we wonder why we're so stressed out? It's all this constant forced rushing of time. Good for you for trying to drag the clock's hands back to a more normal pace.

We are always rushing ahead of ourselves and forgetting about living today. So true your post is!

OK...so the fact that I've already gathered the Christmas CD's to make the switch in the van probably doesn't fit well with this post, does it? I'm just a sucker for Christmas.
