Yesterday I received my new RAM in the mail and upgraded my computer to 4mb of RAM. Sounds pretty impressive when a week ago I didn't know RAM from SPAM, doesn't it?
Well, after a little chat with the Geek Squad and a little internet research, voila! I'm moving at lightning speed.
I felt somewhat like a character on "Mission Impossible" as hubby opened up the back of my laptop, and spoke words of encouragement as I removed the old RAM. I was a little stressed and imagined that I was disarming a bomb and that one false move could blow us both to smithereens. (perhaps I watched too much TV as a youngster).
Anyway, I did it and it's working like a charm. Not bad for a fifty year old granny.

What bravery! I'd have had one of the geek squad do that for me for fear of ruining my puter.
One thing I've found in my wrangling with computers is that it's best not to be afraid of them. Once you get past your fear and get a little info, they're not that complicated (on a basic level!) Congrats!
Eeek! You are indeed a brave YOUNG lady!!! Pfft, 50 is young, the new 30!!
hugs!
Congratulations on a good job!
I admit, I would be scared to do this! Good for you!
Oh! I put memory in my desktop - and need to put more, but was afraid to open the old laptop and do it! Brava! :)
Congrats on your upgrade! Full speed ahead!
I LAUGHED at the title of your post. I thought you were going to talk about YOUR memory and you meant YOUR COMPUTER's memory! And, good for you to attempt such a task. I am not quite up to that level yet--may never get there either as long as I have a computer geek for a son.
Too bad I can't add a few mega bites to my human memory! Congrats on your RAM conquest!
