This young woman - ?

This picture was found amongst the treasures in my grandma's attic after she, and all of her children, had passed away.

I have no idea who she is, and that makes me sad. Someone cared enough about her at one time to have her picture put into this ornate wooden frame but now her identity is lost forever.

I sometimes think about who in my family she resembles. I have one idea, but there is nothing concrete to prove or disprove my theory.

This picture is a reminder to me how important it is to write down our stories for those who will come after us.

I get so sad when I find old pictures without information on them. I try to label mine immediately but guess I've let a few go. I think that is why I love writing stories down about people.

Oh! I have a photo album someone sent me from my Maw Maw's things and there are photos, very old photos, of people I do not know and wonder who they are! Some have sad faces, some happy - so, I have to write their stories - I will soon, too....

Write her story - give her life *smiling*

Love that framed photo. Did you open and look on the back? I have several large wedding pics from the 1800's in my house I got at auctions. Don't know who the folks are, but they are lovely anyway.

I love looking at old family photos and learning the stories of their lives. I so encouraged my mom to tell me and write her family stories down before her Alzheimer's took them away. She never had a chance to. And now I find myself guilty of not doing the same for my sons and granddaughters. I will start writing the family photo stories down now to give to them. Thanks for the reminder.

I've seen old photos in antique stores and thrift shops, you wonder who they are and what life they lived. I try to label all my pictures but some do slip by, now when we are looking through and I find one not labeled I do it right then.
