Character

We have been going through a difficult time at work and many amazing people are losing their jobs. Amidst all this chaos have emerged people with integrity and character. Would you expect the person losing a job to comfort the individual delivering the bad news? How about someone who was just told they were losing their job, to return to their desk and do the best job that they could for as long as they had remaining. Character speaks volumes.

On another note, I've been reading Kim's new book The Unbreakable Child. My heart breaks for the child Kim, but I am in awe of the character of the adult Kim. She's a class act as well.

In difficult times, character is what rises to the top and remains.

Your post reminds me of a passage in the New Testament: "we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us."

Thank you for sharing this about your coworkers and colleagues. It sounds like they are living testaments to this truth.

Tough times in so many work places. That character you spoke of will be truly tested.

I'm reading my copy, too! It's just such a devastating story, and Kimmi is so brave to share it.

Tough times sure do reveal people's character! Those that aren't established in a job already (usually young adults) are struggling trying to find work as well. It's hard out there right now. Hopefully it won't last too long!

When my husband was told he lost his job, he stayed the entire day and consoled the sixty or more under him who went next. His own boss packed his desk and left. I don't mean to brag on him but he has since in the last 1 and a half years had many people tell him and others how much they appreciated what he did that awful day. We need to live like Christ would no matter how hard it gets.
I'm sorry your company is going through this. It isn't easy watching.
