I saw the light!

I noticed something yesterday when I left work. It was something that made my heart sing and made me step a bit livelier.

So what was it? Actually, it's more like what wasn't it? It wasn't dark! There was some daylight left, and as I walked to my car I glimpsed the sun just beginning to drop below the horizon. It doesn't sound like much, but for someone like me who only sees the light of day on weekends all winter long, it's cause for celebration!

Today was a picture-perfect day here in the Pacific Northwest. The sky was blue and the sun was shining, I even saw someone driving a convertible with the top down!

I observed a couple of other things this afternoon that also made me do a little internal happy dance. My grocery store was selling daffodils! The bright yellow flowers literally scream "spring" don't they?

And finally, on the way home I saw a flock of geese......flying north!

I know it's only January and we're still a long way from the official change of the seasons, but I'm thinking spring!

Oh, what great things to put a "spring" in your step. *snicker* I'm wishing for spring, too!

Nothing says "Spring" like daffodils. It does seem like the days are starting to get a little longer. I am so glad you were able to experience those wonderful things. Seasons changing seem to make me stop and just NOT think about anything. It's a wonderful feeling.

We once lived in Tacoma where the daffodils were sold in abundance every spring. I looked forward to their arrival and the wonderful fragrance they brought to the house. Your post brings back good memories.

I think every gardener in the northern hemisphere is probably thinking what you're thinking-I know I am!

I grew up in Seattle and I know ... after a long period of Grey skies and rain (and this year ... snow, rain and flooding) ... a bright, sunny day is a gift. Did you know that they sell more sun glasses in the Pacific NW than anywhere else in the U.S.? :) Enjoy your sunny day!

How lovely to read the signs that winter might be coming to a close. I just hate the winter!

My daughter who lives over there near you said she was going for a walk today! I said is it that warm and I guess it is!
Spring is wonderful--and so is that extra daylight!

It looks like we're all looking forward to spring! I noticed that the daffodils in my garden are poking their heads up too. It's coming!!

Small Footprints - I think we buy sunglasses to fool ourselves that we're living in a sunny climate! Truth be told, I find that when it's nice...it's REALLY nice here! I don't miss the cold and snow at all!
