Tomorrow I will be heading home after spending one of the best weeks of my life with my daughter and her husband and baby Makiya.It has been such a blessing to be able to share this first week of Makiya's life with her parents. While I have been here to help the new parents out a bit, I have received the most abundant blessing I am sure, as I have seen the love that they have for each other spill over onto this precious little girl.
I take home with me precious memories of this week that I will hold in my heart always. It will be sad to leave tomorrow, but I leave knowing that God will keep this family in His tender care, and filled with gratitude for this experience.

I hope Linda you get to go back really really soon! I spent three weeks with my daughter when ours was born and leaving was hard--I'll be thinking of you. What a blessing you had to be there! She will remember it always.

What a sweetie - ...I could just kiss that little sweet head! I love the top of babies' heads...*smiling*
*sigh* it was so hard to leave, but I am happy that the new little family with have some time alone now. That said, I DO plan to visit again as soon as I can!
Aww, what a great visit. I know you'll remember the smell of that sweet little baby head for a long time to come!
As to you comment about Bears! I have to tell you - when I was a little girl, I had this recurring dream that I'd be taken from my family and when I finally found my way home, I'd go knock on the door (knock? on my own door?) and bears would answer the door! laughing....my family would have all gone away and a family of bears would be living there....

Oh ... she is just adorable! Congratulations, Grandma!! What a wonderful way to start the year! The words seem simple ... "... share this first week of Makiya's life ..." but it's truly an amazing thing, isn't it? The first week of a person's life ... what an experience!
